Robert Arthur Dawson, 87, a resident of Severna Park, died on March 2, 2010 at FutureCare Chesapeake in Arnold, MD, from complications of cancer.
He was born on January 15, 1923 in Baltimore, MD and raised in Severna Park, MD.
Mr. Dawson was a retired Tool and Die Maker from Revere Copper & Brass and also Locke Insulator.
He served in the U.S. Navy during WWII and participated in Battles of Okinawa, Iwo Jima, and the Philippine Sea.
He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and sports.
Survivors include his wife of 66 years, Catherine B. Dawson of Severna Park, MD; his son, Steve Dawson of Salisbury, MD; his daughter, Victoria Stone of Atlanta, Georgia; and three granddaughters, Rachel Dawson of Arlington, VA, Rebecca Stone of Atlanta, GA, and Alexandra Dawson of Salisbury, MD.
There will be a Chapel Service on Monday, March 8, 2010 at 10:45 AM at MD Veterans Cemetery Chapel in Crownsville, MD.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Ducks Unlimited, Inc. Memorial Contributions, One Waterfowl Way, Memphis, TN 38120.
