Retired Army Col. Robert Warren Brown, 98, of Millersville, died of natural causes Sept. 23 at Assisted Living Well Compassionate Care in Millersville after a lengthy illness.

Col. Brown was born Dec. 1, 1908, and reared in the Panama Canal Zone. He was also a past resident of Philadelphia and Washington, D.C.

He served in the Army for 30 years, fighting in the Battle of the Bulge during World War II. He served two tours of duty in Germany following the war, and received the Silver Star, Bronze Star and the Purple Heart.

His interests included boating and fishing. He was a member of the Retired Officers Association, Military Order of World Wars, Veterans of Foreign Wars and the Masons, where he was a 32nd degree Mason in the Scottish Rite in Washington, D.C. He also was a member of Sojourners Military Masonic Order and the U.S. Horse Cavalry Association.

In 1934 he married Edith Haas Brown who died in 1988. Surviving are his son, Edward Bruce Brown of Severna Park; his daughter, Roberta B. Kilcup of Glen Burnie; five grandsons; and six great-granddaughters.

Visitation will be from 2 to 4 and 6 to 7:30 p.m. Friday at the Barranco and Sons Severna Park Funeral Home, 495 Ritchie Highway in Severna Park, where services will be held at 7:30 p.m. Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. Dec. 10 in Arlington National Cemetery. Participants should meet at the Administration Building by 10:30 a.m.
