Robert Charles Bingham, Sr., 74, died peacefully Saturday morning following a stroke. He was a 45 year resident of Severna Park.

Born in Clovis, New Mexico, Bob was raised in a military family, residing in places such as Hawaii, Panama, Texas, Iowa, and South Carolina. After moving to Maryland, he worked for the Federal Government, retiring after 35 years. He enjoyed all sports, especially Orioles baseball and Colts football. Bob was actively involved with the Severna Park Elks, serving as Exalted Ruler of the Lodge, and District Deputy and Vice President of the Elks State Association's North Central District. He was known best for helping others in their times of need, often neglecting his own. His charitable works and great sense of humor touched all who knew him.

He is survived by his wife, Constance, of 52 years; two daughters, Jacqueline Barnes and Rhonda Huber; two sons, Robert, Jr. and Grant Bingham; and seven grandchildren, Kelly and Ashley Dunahoo, Brittani Ayers, Joe and Samantha Huber, Hallie Barnes, and Erica Bingham.

Family and friends are invited to visit Wednesday, February 17, from 2 to 4 PM and 6 to 8 PM at Barranco and Son's Funeral Home in Severna Park, where funeral services will be held at 1pm Thursday. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to The Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson's Research, ATTN: Tribute Gifts, Church Street Station, P.O. Box 780, New York, NY 10008-0780.
