Roald Neville Horton, 70, of Severna Park, died Sept. 24 of heart failure after surgery at Washington, D.C., Hospital Center.
Born April 13, 1935, and reared in Windsor, Ohio, Mr. Horton previously lived in Columbus, Ohio, and Ellicott City before moving to Severna Park 27 years ago. He earned a bachelor of science degree in physics from Baldwin-Wallace College in Berea, Ohio.
He retired 13 years ago from Westinghouse Electric Corp. where he worked for more than 33 years.
A member since the 1960s and a former commodore of the Potapskut Sailing Association, he also was a member and formerly on the board of directors of Windjammers of the Chesapeake.
He was considered a talented singer, and had joined church choirs and singing groups since his youth. In Severna Park, he was a member of Woods Memorial Presbyterian Church.
Surviving are his wife, Marilyn Faye Ramsey Horton, whom he married on June 22, 1957; two daughters, Marcea Cotter of Glenelg in Howard County and Elyssa Parana of Crofton; two grandchildren; and one brother, Milford Horton of Chandler, Ariz.
A memorial service will be held at 1:30 p.m. Oct. 7 at Woods Memorial Presbyterian Church. Burial will be private. Arrangements are by Barranco and Sons Severna Park Funeral Home. Online condolences may be made at www.barrancofuneralhome.com.
