Rita M. Von Sas (nee Bonisio), 77, a resident of Severna Park, died on October 18, 2009, at Sunrise Assisted Living in Severna Park, due to Alzheimer's Disease.

She was born on December 22, 1931 in Baltimore, MD, where she was raised, and lived in Severna Park for the past 43 years.

Ms. Von Sas's past employments included being first head waitress at Hausner's restaurant, a school crossing guard, and working for over 17 years at Image Creators Hair Salon.

She was a member of Chartwell Country Club, Friendship Club of Severna Park, and the Altar Club of St. John the Evangelist Roman Catholic Church. She loved knitting and volunteering.

Survivors include a daughter, JoAnn Weatherspoon of Southlake, TX; two sons, Mark J. Von Sas of Pasadena, MD and Paul H. Von Sas of Annapolis, MD; one sister, Adell Scheidt of Dundalk, MD; and six grandchildren.

Family and friends may visit on Wednesday, October 21, 2009 from 2-4 and 6-8 pm at Barranco & Sons, P.A. Severna Park Funeral Home, 495 Gov. Ritchie Hwy, in Severna Park, MD. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Thursday, October 22, 2009 at 10:00 AM at St. John the Evangelist Roman Catholic Church, 689 Ritchie Hwy, Severna Park, MD 21146. Interment will follow in Sacred Heart of Jesus Cemetery in Baltimore, MD.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Rita's name to Alzheimer's Association, 1850 York Road, Suite D, Timonium, MD 21093.
