Rita P. Arthur (nee Pogash), 84, a longtime resident of Severna Park, passed away on August 10, 2017 at Baltimore Washington Medical Center in Glen Burnie.

She was born on September 13, 1932 in Baltimore, MD and attended St. Elizabeth's commercial class.

After spending many years working in the insurance industry, Rita retired from Riggs, Counselman, Michaels & Downs in the early 1980s.

She enjoyed Polka dancing, bowling, and loved animals, especially her pet dogs.

Rita was preceded in death by her husband, Paul Arthur, who died January 26, 2002, her sisters, Theresa Scharpf and Lillian Timmerman, and her brother, Daniel Pogash. She is survived by her good friend, Harry Lehecka, and many other friends and relatives.

Family and friends may visit on Monday, August 14, 2017 from 6 PM -8 PM at Barranco & Sons, P.A. Severna Park Funeral Home, 495 Ritchie Highway, in Severna Park. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Tuesday, August 15, 2017 at 10 AM at St. John the Evangelist Roman Catholic Church, 689 Ritchie Highway, Severna Park, 21146. Interment will follow in New Cathedral Cemetery in Baltimore.
