Richard Werbisky
Richard William Werbisky, 72, a five-year resident of Pasadena and formerly of Milford, N.J., died of lung cancer Feb. 18 at his home after a five-year illness.
The son of the late William and Sophie Wigranowsky Werbisky, Mr. Werbisky was born Oct. 22, 1933, in Newark, N.J. and reared in Phillipsburg, N.J., where he graduated from Phillipsburg High School.
He served in the Navy aboard the battleship USS New Jersey and worked for the Riegel Paper Mill at its Milford plant for many years.
He was a member of Severna Park Elks Lodge and St. John's Eastern Orthodox Church in Alpha, N.J.
His wife, Irene Soley Werbisky, died in 1999.
Surviving are his second wife, Eleanor Bunko; one son, David Werbisky of Coopersburg, Pa.; two daughters, Diane Gehert and Donna Villalobos, both of Hampstead in Carroll County; one stepdaughter, Lisa Pitt of Severna Park; one sister, Betty Wismer of Morristown, N.J.; and seven grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 7 to 9 p.m. today at Barranco and Sons Severna Park Funeral Home, 495 Ritchie Highway and from 7 to 9 p.m. tomorrow and 9 to 10 a.m. Wednesday at Finegan Funeral Home, 302 Heckman St. in Alpha. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at St. John's Eastern Orthodox Church in Alpha, with burial in the church cemetery.
