Pessagno, Richard E.
On July 1, 2010, Richard E. Pessagno passed away after a long battle with lung cancer. Born in Washington, D.C., he graduated from Suitland High School and served in the US Navy just after the Korean War. He then went to work for the Control Data Corporation as a computer engineer, retiring after 19 years.
He was an active member of the Jaycees of Maryland for many years and also coached for the Bowie Boys and Girls Club. His hobbies included horse racing and fishing. He is survived by his second wife, Philippa; sons, Richard A. of Voorhees, NJ; Martin T. of Prince Frederick, MD; and Paul D. of Huntington, MD from his previous marriage, his sister, Helen Harpold, and brother, Robert Pessagno. He was preceeded in death by his son, Adam V. Interment will be at Cheltenham Veterans Cemetery, Cheltenham, MD on July 8, 2010 at 11 a.m. In lieu of flowers, please send memorial contributions to the American Lung Association, 211 E.
