Richard Neil Kemmet, 79, passed away on September 1, 2026.

Richard was born on March 30, 1947 to Glenn and Dorothy Kemmet in Cumberland, MD. He was raised in Cumberland, and lived in Hagerstown, MD; Houston, TX; Snow Hill, MD; and Salisbury, MD before settling in Severna Park, MD.

Rick, as he was known by friends and family, served in the United States Air Force from 1966 to 1970. He attended Allegany Community College, and later worked for the State of Maryland.

He enjoyed woodworking, DIY projects, reading, travelling, and he loved animals (especially his dogs). Nothing was more important to him than being with his loved ones.

He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Wendy Kemmet of Severna Park, MD; his daughter Kristen Kemmet and son-in law Ian Winstanley of Warrington, England, United Kingdom, his son Brian Kemmet and daughter-in-law Caitlin of Severna Park, MD; his granddaughter Charlotte Kemmet of Severna Park, MD; his brother Ed Kemmet of Salisbury, MD; his four nieces Megan, Colleen, Jennifer, and Amy as well as his two nephews Jason and Stephen.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Dorothy and Glenn Kemmet, and his brother John Kemmet.

In lieu of flowers, Memorial donations may be made to the SPCA of Anne Arundel County.

A celebration of life will be held at Café Mezzanotte in Severna Park on Sunday September 13th from 12:30 - 2:30 PM, and interment will take place at Old Tennent Cemetery & Memorial Building, in Tennent New Jersey. Interment will be private.
