Richard Bruce Hull, 61, of Arnold, MD died at his home on September 23, due to complications of Lou Gehrig's Disease.

Mr. Hull was born on March 26, 1947 in Baltimore, MD. He was raised in Brooklyn Park, MD and graduated from Brooklyn Park High School. Mr. Hull worked as an engineering technician at General Refractories on Patapsco Avenue for 20 years and Bowles Fluidics in Columbia, MD for 20 years.

He was a soldier and a patriot in the United States Army, serving two years in Germany. He was the president of the Brookshire Sports Car Club, participating and winning many of the races. He served as Vice President of the Magothy Manor Improvement Association from 1990-1999.

Mr. Hull was a little league coach, a handyman who helped many of his friends with home improvements, a self-taught computer specialist and an avid tennis player. He, too, was a soccer referee for over 10 years. In 2003 he refereed a total of 250 matches. In December 2006, he received an award from the Capital Area Soccer Referees Association in recognition of his years of dedicated service to the organization and his exceptional refereeing skills.

Mr. Hull is survived by his wife of 35 years, Sharon Hull; two sons, Russell Hull of Santa Cruz, CA and Justin Hull of Arnold, MD; and two sisters, Mary Catherine Stafford of Ferndale, MD and Jane Hull of Baltimore, MD.

A visitation will be held on Thursday from 3-5 and 7-9 at Barranco & Sons, P.A. Severna Park Funeral Home. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Friday at 11:00 am at St. John the Evangelist Church in Severna Park. A private interment will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Missioners of Christ – Honduras Mission 1920 Centerville Turnpike Suite 117-332 Virginia Beach, VA 23464.
