Richard "Dick" Hale, 84, resident of Severna Park for the past 43 years, died Nov. 7 at Baltimore Washington Medical Center.

Mr. Hale was born Mar. 30, 1924, in Kingston, PA to the late Harold and Martha Hale. He graduated cum laude from the Polytechnic Institute of Brooklyn with a BS degree in Mechanical Engineering.

Mr. Hale is a World War ll veteran. He enlisted in the Navy and served as an aircraft navigator from 1942 to 1946 with the rank of Lieutenant.

Mr. Hale joined Westinghouse in 1950, and held a succession of positions in New York, California and Baltimore. He served as General Manager of Integrated Logistic Systems in Hunt Valley and retired as Vice President, Logistics, Marketing and Contracts.

He enjoyed golf, boating on the Severn River and spending winters in Florida with his wife Helen.

He is preceded in death by his first wife, Doris Elizabeth Hale, and by his stepdaughter Joanne O'Leary DeMarino.

He is survived by his wife, the former Helen M. O'Leary; three daughters: Debra Collins of Severna Park, Linda Grode of Trego, MT and Carol LaRotonda of Brooklyn, NY; three stepchildren: Karen Norris of Prescott, AZ, Tom O'Leary of Annapolis and Steven O'Leary of Midlothian, VA; thirteen grandchildren and one great grandchild.

A memorial service will be held on Nov. 24 at 11:00 am at the Severna Park United Methodist Church, 731 Benfield Road, Severna Park, MD.
