Richard Allen Cummings, 74, of Arnold, died of lung cancer Aug. 14 at Genesis ElderCare Network, Severna Park.
Mr. Cummings was born Aug. 11, 1933 in Rowlesburg, W.Va. and had lived in Huntington, W.Va. and Baltimore before moving to Arnold.
He was an electrician for the Keedy Construction Co. in West Virginia and later for Chesapeake Paper Board Company, retiring after 43 years.
He served in the Army during the Korean War and was a member of American Legion Post 175.
His hobbies were hunting, fishing, boating and traveling.
Survivors include one daughter, Wanda L. Cummings Neice of Pasadena; one sister, Verlie Cummings of Essex; one brother, Charles Cummings of Texas; two granddaughters; and three great-granddaughters.
His wife, Mary M. Cummings, died July 31. He was the brother of the late Virgil Cummings.
Visitation will be from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. tomorrow at the Barranco & Sons Severna Park Funeral Home, 495 Ritchie Highway, where the funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Friday. Burial will follow in Maryland Veterans Cemetery in Crownsville.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 1041 Route 3, N., Gambrills, MD 21054.
