Richard L. Ay, Sr. born June 3, 1930 died October 6, 2011. He was predeceased by his parents Edward F. Ay and Anna M. Ay, and his siblings, Edward L. Ay, Sr., Ruth Ay Bollman, George F. Ay and Charles F. Ay. He is survived by his wife of 58 years Angela B. Ay, his three sons and nine grandchildren; Richard L. Ay, Jr., (and spouse Adriana), children; Nicole, Richard III and Mark of Cypress, TX; Timothy E. Ay, children; Christopher, Courtney and Jennifer of Drexel Hill, PA; and John M. Ay, Sr. (and spouse Maribel), children; John Michael, Jr., Gian-Carlo and Jean-Paul of Palm Bay, FL.

He was a member of the Anne Arundel County Housing Authority for 22 years and was Chairman for 10 years. He was a Senior Vice-President of Curtis Engine and Equipment in Baltimore until his retirement. He was a former member of the Annapolis Yacht Club, the Hospital Engineers Association and the Equipment Distributors Association.

Viewing will be at the Barranco & Sons, P.A. Severna Park Funeral Home, 495 Ritchie Hwy on Friday, October 14th from 2:00 pm-4:00 pm and from 6:00 pm -8:00 pm. There will be a funeral service at St. Margaret's Episcopal Church on Saturday, October 15th at 11:00 AM. Interment of his ashes will be at a private ceremony for immediate family on Monday, October 17th at 11:00 AM.
