Rhine Jager, 79, of Severna Park died on December 2, 2015 at Anne Arundel Medical Center. He was born on December 26, 1935 to the late Cobe and Jennie Jager in Kalamazoo, MI. Rhine served in the Army from 1957 to 1960 and was promoted to the rank of Master Sergeant. Upon leaving the military, Rhine earned the degree of Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from the University of Michigan and a Master's degree in Engineering Administration from George Washington University. He retired from Westinghouse after 33 years as an engineer.
Rhine was preceded in death by his loving wife of 54 years, Betty, and his brother, Henry Jager, and sister, Johanna. He is survived by daughter Janet Gaye Henson of Brownsville, VT and her husband, Oliver, and son Paul Andrew Jager of Millersville and his wife Kathleen. He is also survived by five grandchildren, Colin and his wife, Lauren; Adam and his wife, Bernadette; Seth and his wife, Suntarin; Lauren, and Katie. In addition, he is survived by three great-grandchildren, Bailey, Bryce, and Nora, and one sister, Jennie, of Kalamazoo, MI.
Rhine was a 48 year resident of Severna Park. He was a loving father and grandfather and great-grandfather and an active member of the Severn River Lions Club and Harundale Presbyterian Church.
Friends and Family may visit on Monday, December, 7, 2015 from 2:00-4:00 and 6:00-8:00 PM at Barranco and Sons, P.A. Severna Park Funeral Home at 495 Ritchie Hwy, Severna Park, MD 21146. A service will be held on Tuesday, December 8, 2015 at 2:00 PM at Harundale Presbyterian Church.
