Regina Macknew

Regina Frances Macknew, 94, of Millersville, died of natural causes Nov. 25 at Knollwood Manor nursing home in Millersville.

Born Jan. 12, 1911, and reared in Baltimore where she attended Holy Cross School, Mrs. Macknew lived in the Green Haven area of Pasadena from 1941 to 1986. She was a homemaker who also worked in the Village Beauty Salon in the mid-1950s to the mid-1960s.

She was a member of Our Lady of the Fields Catholic Church in Millersville and a former member of St. Jane Frances de Chantal Catholic Church in Riviera Beach. Her interests included crocheting and knitting.

Her husband, George Macknew, died in 1954.

Surviving are two sons, George Macknew of Martinsburg, W.Va., and Donald Macknew of Belair; one daughter, Jane Matulonis of Pasadena; one sister, Madeline Vetra of Pasadena; 10 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. tomorrow with a wake service at 7 p.m. at Barranco and Sons Severna Park Funeral Home, 495 Ritchie Highway. A Mass of Christian burial will be said at 10 a.m. Monday at Our Lady of the Fields Catholic Church, 1070 Cecil Ave., Millersville. Burial will be private.
