On Tuesday, September 2, 2014, Raymond Weistling of Silver Spring, MD passed away. He was the devoted father of Carole (Brent) Knoblett, Joanne (Bob) Gilbert and Anita Green; loving grandfather of Larissa, Lauren, Julianne and Brian Knoblett, Kevin and Keith Green; brother of William Weistling and the late Murl Weistling; son of the late Donnie and Daniel Weistling. He was 89 years old.

Ray proudly served his country during WWII as a member of the Army Air Corps. He flew on a B-17 as a tail gunner in the ETO 486th Bomb Group 833rd bomb squadron, on Pankows Crew. He was awarded numerous medals. Following the war, he enjoyed a life-long career with the Federal Government in a variety of positions including investigator with the Civil Service Commission and he concluded his career as Chief of Annuitant Services.

The family will receive friends on Monday, September 8, 2014 from 9:15am to 10:15am at Barranco and Sons, P.A. Severna Park Funeral Home, 495 Ritchie Highway, Severna Park, MD.

A funeral service and interment will be held at Maryland Veterans Cemetery Crownsville, 1122 Sunrise Beach Road, Crownsville, MD immediately following the visitation.
