Raymond O. Trent, Jr. died of Congestive Heart Failure on Feb. 7, 2008. He was a resident of Severna Park since 1951. He was owner and operator of the Tremond Restaurant and Tavern on Ritchie Hwy. in Glen Burnie from March 1950 until July 1971. The name was a combination of the last names of Raymond "Jack" Trent Sr. and his partner, Joe Raymond. Born August 31, 1923 in Southwest Baltimore to Raymond O. Trent Sr. and Elizabeth I. Feast, Ray enlisted in the U.S. Army in 1942 and served in various posts in the U.S. and in the European Theater of Operations in France and Germany. He was honorably discharged as a First Sergeant in 1946. He was a member of Glen Burnie American Legion Post 40 and was a Life and Charter member of Glen Burnie Elks Lodge 2266. An ardent fan of what was then the Baltimore Colts, he had several busloads of Patrons leaving from his establishment for all Colt home games. Prior to joining his father in the restaurant business, he worked at General Motors Parts Division in Baltimore from 1947 until 1951. After retiring as an Administrative Specialist from the State Archives, he was a volunteer tax aide through AARP for 15 years and participated in other AARP Programs. Raymond enjoyed reading, spectator sports and listening to Big Band Music. Mr. Trent attended Baltimore public schools through the 11th grade at Baltimore City College in 1940 and then attended the University of Baltimore at night school for two years after his discharge from the Army in 1946, majoring in Accounting. He completed his high school studies by obtaining his G.E.D. in Anne Arundel County in 1972 at the age of 49. He and his wife, Helen Gillen Trent, were married in 1946. Preceded in death by his wife, Helen (died July 23, 2007) and one daughter, Karen Lee Trent-Hastings (died Jan. 3, 2007) and his two grandchildren, Adam Trent Price (died Sept 11, 1995) and Emily Lambden (died 1989). Surviving are four daughters: Linda R. Hartlove, Carol L. Coffin, and Sandra J. Price of Severna Park, Patricia A. Lambden of Millington, Queen Anne's County. Also surviving are seven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Visitation will be held at Barranco & Sons, P.A. Severna Park Funeral Home on Sunday from 2-4 and 6-8pm. Funeral Services will be held on Monday at 11am at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Glen Haven Cemetery.
