Raymond Francis Gleason, 94, a resident of Severna Park, died on July 9, 2014, at Sunrise of Severna Park.
He was born on September 9, 1919 in Juneau County, WI, was raised in Baraboo, WI, and lived in District Heights for about 40 years before settling in Severna Park. He received his Electrical Engineering Degree from the University of Wisconsin.
Raymond served in the U.S Navy working in the Naval Research Lab.
He was a member of the Knights of Columbus. He enjoyed golf and was an avid Redskins fan.
He was preceded in death by his late son, Cornelius "Neal" Patrick Gleason.
Raymond is survived by his wife, Mary Gleason (nee Shields); six children, John Francis Gleason (Sue Ann) of Vienna, VA, Ellen Mary Gleason of Edgewater, Thomas Raymond Gleason of Pasadena, Kathleen Gleason Kirtley (Chip) of Dayton, Patrick L. Gleason (Colleen), and Nancy Gleason Krejci (David) of Waldorf; five grandchildren, Tierney Youngling, Colin Orr, Marlee Orr, Jacob Kirtley, and Tom Gleason; three great-grandchildren, Kiera Youngling, Kyla Youngling, and Lucas Orr; and his sister, Evelynn Helgestad.
Family and friends may visit on Saturday, July 12, 2014 from 11:00 am -1:00 pm at Barranco & Sons, P.A. Severna Park Funeral Home, 495 Ritchie Hwy, in Severna Park, where a funeral service will begin at 1:00 pm, following the visitation. Interment will follow in Resurrection Cemetery Mausoleum in Clinton, MD.
