Raymond "Ray" Howard Edwards, 65, a resident of Arnold, MD, died on October 14, 2008 at Anne Arundel Medical Center in Annapolis, due to cancer.

He was born February 22, 1943 in Upland, CA and raised in Prescott, AZ.

Mr. Edwards served in the U.S. Navy aboard the USS Schofield off the coast of Vietnam and retired as a Senior Chief after 20 years of service. He was stationed at the U.S. Naval Academy at the time of his retirement and has lived in the Annapolis/Arnold area ever since.

He was a manager of the Tecumseh Condominium Complex in Annapolis for over 28 years. He was a member of the American Legion Post 175 of Arnold and also, a member of the Moose Lodge.

Mr. Edwards loved bowling, camping, gardening, boating, horseback riding and helping others.

Survivors include his wife, Wanda J. Peddicord Edwards of Arnold, MD , whom he married in 1993; a daughter, Kathleen Buckley of Annapolis, MD; three sons, Timothy Edwards of Stafford, VA, Claude Michael Peddicord of Lothian, MD, and Claude Edward Peddicord of Key Stone Heights, FL; a sister, Betty Wilson of Phoenix, AZ; and nine grandchildren.

Family and friends may visit on Friday, October 17 from 2-4 pm and 6-8 pm at Barranco & Sons, P.A. Severna Park Funeral Home, 495 Gov. Ritchie Hwy in Severna Park, MD. A Funeral Service will be held at the funeral home on Saturday, October 18, 11:30 AM.
Interment will be private.
