Raymond Ernest Carroll, 66, a resident of Arnold, died on July 25, 2011 at Anne Arundel Medical Center in Annapolis.

He was born on February 26, 1945 in Baltimore and raised in Old Glory Beach Community of Pasadena, MD. He graduated from Glen Burnie High School in 1962 and has lived in the Arnold area since 1995.

He served in the U.S. Coast Guard from 1965-1969, and upon returning to Pasadena, he worked for over 30 years as a telephone repairman and installer for the C & P Telephone Company. He retired in 2004 from Lucent Technologies as a Fiber Optic Installer.

Raymond was a member of the American Legion Post 7 in Annapolis. He was an avid golfer and member of the Catonsville Golf Club.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Lillian (Dorsey) Hyland and Raymond E. Carroll, Sr.

He is survived by his two sisters, Jacqueline H. (Truitt) Creel of Arnold and Patricia M. (Truitt) Von Den Bosch of Mt. Airy; brother-in-law, Frank Von Den Bosch of Mt. Airy; niece, Karen Graulich of Rehoboth Beach, DE; and three nephews, Bill Frei, III of and Billy Frei, IV, both of Arnold and Ted Hillary. Also, survived by numerous nieces and nephews.

Family and friends may visit on Thursday, July 28, 2011 from 2-4 pm and 6-8 pm at Barranco & Sons, P.A. Severna Park Funeral Home, 495 Ritchie Hwy in Severna Park.
A Funeral Service will be held at the funeral home on Friday, July 29, 2011 at 10 AM.
Interment will be in MD Veterans Cemetery in Crownsville, MD.
