Ralph Eugene Long Jr. passed away at his home in Severna Park on January 8, 2023. He was born on October 27, 1942 to Ralph Eugene Long Sr. and Ruth Olivia Long (nee Fisher) in Gambrills Maryland.

Ralph grew up in Gambrills, MD and graduated from Gambrills High School and went on to attend Towson University and earn his graduate degree in Education. He was married to his wife, Kathleen Pettybone Long in 1975 and they lived in various parts of Maryland together, including Crownsville, Glen Burnie and Severna Park. Ralph taught at Bowie High school during his career as an educator, and in his retirement loved yachting and dancing.

He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Kathleen Pettybone Long of Severna Park, Maryland and his brother, Wilbur "Bill" Long of Pennsylvania.
