Services for Quintin Winfred Weaver, 81, a 49-year resident of Severna Park, will be held at 11 a.m. tomorrow at Woods Memorial Presbyterian Church in Severna Park.
Visitation will be from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 tonight at Barranco and Sons Severna Park Funeral Home, 495 Ritchie Highway.
Mr. Weaver died of an apparent heart attack Nov. 29 while on a hunting trip in Butler County, Pa.
Born June 13, 1923, in Ringgold, Pa., he was raised in North Freedom, Pa., and graduated from Hawthorne (Pa.) High School in 1941. He graduated in 1948 from Defries Communications Technical School in Chicago.
During World War II from 1943 to 1946 he served in the Navy in the Pacific Theater of Operations, participating in the Battle of Okinawa. He was aboard a ship in Tokyo Bay when the Japanese surrendered.
He was employed as an engineer at Westinghouse for 38 years.
His interests included hunting, fishing and farming. A member of Woods Memorial Presbyterian Church, he participated in its mission work, including rehabilitating houses with the Brooklyn-Curtis Bay Coalition and volunteering with the Severna Park Assistance Network.
Surviving are his wife, Gertrude Colwell Weaver; his children, Kevin Paul Weaver of Elverson, Pa., Lindsey Neal Weaver of Cape Coral, Fla., Karen Weaver Kissam of Severna Park, Brian David Weaver of Stevensville and Meade Scott Weaver of Pasadena; one brother, Gerald Eugene Weaver of Painesville, Ohio; and eight grandchildren.
