Prudencia Prescillas Laque left her earthly life for heaven on March 8, 2021 of complications following illness with Covid-19. She was known as "Prudy", "Pruding" or "Poding", but many called her "Nanay" - a word used by the Filipino people for "Mother".

Born April 28, 1924 in Cebu, Philippines, she married Harold William Laque, Sr. in 1947. They moved to North Linthicum in 1956 and eventually settled in Millersville where they raised their family. They were married for 56 years until his death in 2003. She worked in electronics assembly as a solderer for Westinghouse.

Prudencia was a founding member of the Filipino-American Society of Maryland. She frequently hosted meetings, parties, and large family gatherings at her home, and was well known for her delicious food, hospitality, and welcoming Filipinos into the community. She loved to offer anyone a meal. She was a longtime member of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, and enjoyed supporting its mission and projects.

Pruding is survived by her sons, Harold Laque, Jr. (Lee), Allan Laque (Sharon), and Gordon Laque, Sr. (Sandy Powell); grandchildren Amber Prunkl, Gordon Laque, Jr., Jaime Anderson, Joe Laque, Buddy Laque and Ted Laque; and 11 great-grandchildren; sister Egly Ibo of the Philippines; nieces Joyce and Vanessa Pratt and nephew Dennis Ibo, and a host of extended family and friends both in the Philippines and across the U.S.

Funeral services are private. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hospice of the Chesapeake, John and Cathy Belcher Campus, 90 Ritchie Hwy., Pasadena, MD 21122. Arrangements are by Barranco Severna Park Funeral Home & Cremation Care, P.A.
