Philip John Welms, 55, a resident of Annapolis for 13 years, died of sepsis April 19 at Anne Arundel Medical Center after a brief illness.
Born in Frankfurt, Germany and reared in Maryland, Mr. Welms graduated from Glen Burnie High School. He worked as a software technician at Magellan Health Services.
Among his interests were fishing, music and Baltimore Ravens football.
He was the brother of Leslie Welms, who died in May 2004.
Surviving are his mother, Amelia M. Welms of Annapolis; one brother, James T. Welms of Parkville; and one sister, Barbara Weller of Annapolis.
A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday at Barranco and Sons Severna Park Funeral Home, 495 Ritchie Highway. Burial is private.
Memorial contributions can be made to the Chesapeake Bay Foundation, 6 Herndon Ave., Annapolis, MD 21403.
