Philip G. Kain, Jr. (Kwiatanowski), 86, a resident of Severna Park, died on February 17, 2010 of cardiac arrest at Genesis HealthCare in Severna Park, MD.
He was born on June 20, 1923 in Somerville, NJ, where he was raised, and in Bridgewater, NJ for 79 years until he moved to Severna Park. He graduated from Somerville High School and Ruckers College in New Brunswick, NJ in 1950.
He was employed for over 30 years with Johns-Manville Corporation.
Mr. Kain was a C-47 Pilot in the Army Air Corps during WWII, where he served in the European Theater. He was a member of the VFW. He enjoyed golf and airplanes.
He was preceded in death by his late wife Georgette (Walker) Kain, who died in 1998.
He is survived by his daughter, Judith Emmel and son-in-law Matthew Emmel of Severna Park, MD; his son, Philip Kain, III and partner William Crow of New York, NY; sister, Helen Meyer of Somerville, NJ; brother, Frank Kwiatanowski of Whitehouse Station, NJ; and sister, Mary Fraschell of Vermont.
Interment and services will be private. Arrangements have been made by Barranco & Sons, P.A. in Severna Park.
