Peter Timothy Karns, 44, of Severna Park died suddenly at his home on 7 Jan 2013.
Peter was born in Washington DC and was a lifelong resident of Severna Park, MD.

A 1986 graduate of Severna Park High School, he went on to earn a Bachelors of Science in Geography from Frostburg State University in 1990, where he was a member of the TKE fraternity.
He spent his life working on computer mapping and GIS programs, most recently as a contractor with Alion Science and Technology Corporation for various US Government Defense and Intelligence agencies. Peter was repeatedly recognized by those agencies' for his unique and invaluable contributions to their global operations.
Peter loved spending his free time socializing with friends and family, camping, sailing, golfing, and watching his beloved Redskins. His house was always open for friends and family to drop by.

He was preceded in death by his parents Andre Maurice and Eleanor "Robin" McGreevy Karns.

Peter is survived by his wife of 17 years, Jennifer Leigh Harding Karns, daughter Robin, 15, son Timothy, 13, and brother Michael Karns along with many cousins, nieces, and nephews.

Family and friends may visit on Thursday, January 10, 2013 from 2-4:00pm & 6-8:00pm at Barranco & Sons, P.A. Severna Park Funeral Home, 495 Ritchie Hwy, Severna Park, MD 21146. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Friday, January 11, 2013 at 10:00am in the St. John Roman Catholic Church 689 Ritchie Highway Severna Park, MD 21146. Interment in Lakemont Memorial Gardens Cemetery, Davidsonville, MD followed by a celebration of his life at the Elks Lodge.
