Pearl Imogene "Jean" Brewster passed away at University of Maryland Shock Trauma on Nov. 28   , 2016 from injuries she sustained in a car accident the day after Thanksgiving.

Born on June 12, 1932, Jean grew up in the little country town of Pound, Virginia. It was there that she met the love of her life and her husband of 60 years, Virgal Brewster.   Although Jean and Virgal moved to Maryland in the early 1950's, Jean never lost her cute southern accent or the country charms that endeared her to everyone she met. She and Virgal lived in Severna Park, Maryland for 47 years.

Jean worked for Carl Lowery Glass Company as a young adult, then stayed home to raise her family, then returned to work as a receptionist for Severna Park Pediatrics. She also worked as a teacher's aide for the Wee Center Early Childhood Education Center.

Imogene's greatest joy was her family - her husband, children and grandchildren.   She loved spending time with family and friends, attending Severna Park Baptist Church, gardening and traveling - especially to visit her southern kinfolk each year at a reunion. She was selfless and loved giving to others. Her daughter describes her as the sweetest woman she has ever known.

Jean's husband, Virgal, also passed away from his injuries in this same car accident. Jean is survived by her two children, Beth Brewster-Blank of Finksburg, Md., Marvin Brewster and his wife Kathy of Centreville, Md., and grandchildren Samuel and Aaron Blank, Jennifer Brewster and Jessica Tyler.   She was predeceased in death by her brothers Glenn and Ezra Countiss.

A Celebration of Life will be held for both Jean and Virgal on Saturday, March 4th at 5pm
