Pauline Elizabeth German, known to friends and family as "Pat", a resident and property owner in Anne Arundel County for about 66 years passed away on Thursday, June 9, 2022 at 90 years old. She was born on August 18, 1931 to Ballard and Ethel Patton in Cedar Bluff, Virginia. She worked at several different jobs throughout her life including the Glenn L. Martin Co. in Middle River, McCormick in Baltimore and at an industrial equipment company in Severna Park for Claire and Tom Larson.
Pat also worked as a volunteer for the Mago Vista Association fundraisers and volunteered for Severna Park High School for 10 years in the Falcon Frolics raising funds for athletic equipment and landscaping for the school grounds. She was also a founding member of College Parkway Baptist Church and for 60 plus years served on various committees. She was responsible for establishing a bereavement fund for church funeral receptions. She was a life member of the Disabled American Veterans Auxiliary and volunteered for Chapter Twenty-one and Chapter Thirteen. Mrs. German had served as Chief Judge for Anne Arundel County Election Board for many years at the Fifth district located at Belvedere Elementary School in Arnold, MD. She was also a member of the Anne Arundel Genealogical Society where she served as past Treasurer for 4 years.
Mrs. German was the widow of Jonathan Charles (Buck) German, whom she married in 1953. He was a disabled Marine veteran. Mr. German served in World War II in the 28 th Marines 5 th Division at Saipan and was a survivor of Iwo Jima. She was also predeceased by her step-daughter, Jackie Kramer; her brothers Bob Patton and Charlie Patton; as well as her sister Marie Pastor. She is survived by her loving daughter Kaye German; her step-grandson Edward Kramer and his siblings; as well as her sister, Lorraine Robinson.
Family and friends may visit on June 18 from 10-11am at College Parkway Baptist Church, 301 College Parkway, Arnold, MD, 21012. A funeral service will be held at 11am at the church, with a reception to follow. Interment is private. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the church.
