Patricia Inez Teano (nee Mize) returned to her creator on January 3, 2014 after a long illness. Patsy Mize was born on August 28, 1941 in Abbeville, SC. Her family transplanted to Annapolis in the mid-1940s. Patsy attended Annapolis High School, and she graduated from Fleet Business School.

Growing up, Patsy attended College Avenue Baptist Church, where her parents were active members—and where she was married. Mrs. T. was the wife of an avid outdoorsman, Leo, who was a Boy Scout Troop Master and an employee of Home Beneficial Life Insurance Company; they met working together at Britt's in Parole in the 1960's, and they married in 1964.

In her prime, Miss Pat was an Avon Lady. She covered a large territory by foot with luggage in hand, carrying deliveries and merchandise samples. She made new friends easily with people from all walks of life.

Miss Pat's lifelong guilty pleasures included consuming copious amounts of (Rheb's) chocolates, Ann's famous foot long chilidogs with extra onions, cherry Coke, Georgia peanuts, ice cream, Key Lime pie, and black-eyed peas with Vidalia onions. She savored her mother's pecan pie, Brunswick stew, and cornbread. She liked gardening and growing raspberries, grapes, and Damson plums. Holidays at her home were never complete without Parker House rolls and lots and lots of pickles.

Pat's hobbies included reading horoscopes, exploring spirituality, learning about different cultures, stargazing, and going to the movies—especially musicals such as Mama Mia, Burlesque, The Wizard of Oz, The Sound of Music, and Disney films. She enjoyed the region's rich cultural destinations from DC's museums, to Baltimore's Inner Harbor with the Aquarium, Science Center and Oriole Park. She cherished spending time with her family at local places such as Down's Park for concerts or a walk around Downtown Annapolis, where she grew up, or for a road trip to Baugher's Orchard in the Fall. She loved listening to Top 40, Rock 'n' Roll, and the oldies all the time. She loved making cheesecakes and preparing ethnic cooking as well as making dishes with fruits and vegetables she cultivated in her yard.

She liked to travel when she could—especially to Ocean City, Rehoboth Beach, the Pennsylvania Dutch Country and Hershey Park. Other favorite vacations include: Scottsdale, Niagra Falls, San Diego, Florida, Boston, Nova Scotia, Hollywood, and Hawaii. Most of all, she enjoyed trips back down South to visit with her beloved family.

Pat was proud of all her children, grandchildren and great granddaughter. She was proud of her son Tab when he became an Eagle Scout and when he graduated from high school, and she was thrilled when he gave her grandchildren. She was proud of her son Todd for persevering with a GED after he left the Army, where he traveled the world to Germany and met his wife, Linda. Pat was proud of Tony's accomplishments in education and government service. She was very happy when both of her granddaughters, Tina and Terri, graduated from high school. Pat was excited when Terri got married. When Mrs. T.'s great granddaughter, Kayla was born, she was ecstatic and she gave Kayla this advice: "Just be true to yourself."

Patricia was preceded in death by: her father (Oris); and her husband (Leo). Surviving are: her revered mother, (Lula Inez Mize, age 96); a baby brother (John); three sons (Tab, Todd, and Tony); two granddaughters (Tina and Terri); and a most beloved great grandbaby (Kayla).

The visitation will be at Barranco Funeral Home in Severna Park on Thursday, January 9, from 6 to 8 PM. The memorial service will begin at 11 AM on Friday, January 10 at Annapolis Friends Meeting House at 351 Dubois Road in Annapolis. She will be laid to rest at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens on Forest Drive in Annapolis.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the general fund or building fund at Evolve Chesapeake Creation Spiritual Community, P.O. Box 6159 Annapolis, MD 21401.
