Patricia Kloes
Patricia Kloes, 60, of Severna Park, died of cancer Jan. 10 at her home after a lengthy illness.
Miss Kloes was born May 10, 1945, in Highlandtown in Baltimore and raised in Loch Raven in Baltimore County. She was a 1963 graduate of Parkville High School, where she played basketball on a team that was undefeated for three years. She went on to play intercollegiate basketball at Bridgewater College in Virginia. where she graduated in 1967.
For two years she taught school in Virginia, and then returned to Maryland to work for the Social Security Administration in Woodlawn in Baltimore County. She was a claims authorizer and then systems analyst from May 1970 until taking early retirement in June 1995.
She was a member of American Legion Auxiliary 175 where she was president for three years. She spent her entire membership volunteering around the post home in its various community service programs.
Her hobbies included cross stitch and crossword puzzles, boating and crabbing on the Chesapeake Bay.
Surviving are four siblings, Peg Kloes of Loch Raven, Stephanie Mullar of Duck Key, Fla., Mark Kloes of Dundalk and Patricia Watchter of Severna Park.
Visitation is from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. today at Barranco and Sons Severna Park Funeral Home, 495 Ritchie Highway, where services will be at 10 a.m. tomorrow.
