Patricia Ann Hoffman, beloved wife and mother, passed away at her Arnold home on 5 November, 2018.
Pat was born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania on 9 June, 1928 to the late Hugh and Pearl McCall. Pat graduated from Margaret Morrison Carnegie College, which later was incorporated into Carnegie Mellon University. Pat was a Kappa Kappa Gamma and met her future husband Oliver at a Pi Kappa Alpha fraternity party. They were married in June 1950 and moved to Harrisburg, Pennsylvania where they started their family. In 1967, they moved to Arnold, Maryland where Pat began a teaching career at Freetown, Elementary. Upon the completion of Broadneck Elementary in Arnold, Pat transferred and taught there until her retirement in 1985.
Pat was an integral part of the Fresh Air Fund in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania for many years. She was active with the Kappa Kappa Gamma alumni group at Bucknell University and in Annapolis, was a founding member of Christ Presbyterian Church in Camp Hill and attended First Presbyterian Church in Annapolis. Pat was a skilled, long time bridge player and along with her husband, a consummate traveler.
Pat was predeceased by her husband of 64 years, Oliver, and her sister, Jane Downing. She was the beloved mother of three children, Cindy(AJ) Whittle, Wes(Lee) Hoffman and Janie(Rick) Abbott; eight adoring grandchildren, and nine great-grandchildren who will miss her very much.
Services will be at 11:00 am on the 30th of November, at First Presbyterian Church, 171 Duke of Gloucester Street, Annapolis, Maryland, with reception to follow. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hospice of the Chesapeake or the Annapolis SPCA.
