Owen Croggon, born on October 15, 1948, in Washington, D.C., passed away on June 28, 2025, at the age of 76 and met his beloved Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ. He was surrounded by his loved ones.

Owen grew up in Seabrook, MD in a home built by his father and he graduated from Bladensburg High School. In 1968, he proudly served his country in the United States Navy on the USS Independence (CVA62) aircraft carrier as a ship's photographer.

He married the love of his life, Janice, on June 12, 1975, and they recently celebrated their 50th anniversary. Their marriage was full of love and laughter; they were a couple who did everything together, especially in their retirement years.

Owen spent over 30 years working at the National Association of Letter Carriers in Washington, D.C. and received an award from Carpenters Local 197 for over 50 years of continuous membership. He was an incredibly gifted master carpenter as well as an accomplished musician, playing the guitar and singing from the young age of 12. In his early years he often played at various events and later used his talent to play in the worship ministry at different churches. He enjoyed fishing, archery, camping, nature, and animals. He was known for his faith, gentle spirit, love and care for others and his great sense of humor.

He is preceded in death by his father, Owen Henry Croggon, mother, Innes Margaret Hargreaves, and sister R. Jenelle Kelbaugh.  He is survived by his wife, Janice, daughters Sondra Knox (Mark) and Jennifer Clark (Scott), his grandchildren: Tony, Christopher, Daniel, Josh, Patriot, Shelby, Asher and Levi and great grandchildren: Aubrey, Jeremiah, Esther, Jude, Raelynne, Noah, Owen, Joshua (JJ), Lydia, Sophie and baby Charles (due in August), sister, Lynette Brewin (Pete) and nephew, Michael Shegoue.

Although we, the family, grieve, we do not grieve like those without hope. Owen finished his earthly race and has now entered his eternal reward and for that we are grateful to Jesus. Until we meet again...

A funeral service will be held on Monday, July 7, 2025, at 11:00 am in Lakemont Memorial Gardens Chapel, 900 West Central Ave., Davidsonville, MD 21035.

Interment will follow.
