Oliver Robert Hagner, 94, of Severna Park, passed away Saturday August 17th at Anne Arundel Medical Center.
Ollie was born to Robert and Loretta Hagner on August 27, 1929 in Baltimore. When he was 2 years old his family moved to Marley Park, Glen Burnie where he was raised. He graduated from Glen Burnie High School. After high school, he was drafted to the Korean War and served two years in Germany. Upon his return, he met and married his wife, Jane, and they settled in Severna Park. Ollie was employed by General Motors for over 35 years.
Ollie and his wife Jane raised their two children in Severna Park and Ollie was very active in many organizations. He was a Green Hornet football coach in the late 1960's and early 1970's. He was also very involved in his parish, Our Shepherd Lutheran Church. Ollie was a Free Mason and a member of the Baltimore Boumi temple. He was also a member of the Crabtowne Ski Club for several years where he participated in many of their ski trips that allowed him to ski all over the world. He and his wife Jane were avid travelers, enjoying many trips to Europe and Asia.
Ollie is survived by his daughter and son in law Dana and Kevin McDonnell of Gambrills, his only grandchild Megan also of Gambrills, and his sister Mary Wolfe of Federalsburg, Maryland. He is predeceased by his wife of 68 years Jane Hagner and his son Mark Hagner.
A viewing will be held at Barranco Severna Park Funeral Home & Cremation Care, P.A., located at 495 Ritchie Hwy Severna Park, MD. The family will be receiving guests on Friday, August 23rd from 2-4 pm and 6-8 pm. The burial will be Saturday, August 24th at 10 am at Lakemont Memorial Gardens, Davidsonville MD.
