Olena E. Glynn, 97, a resident of Severna Park for 12 years, passed away on December 21, 2017 at Sunrise Assisted Living in Severna Park.

Olena was born to her parents, Hans and Inga Evans (Ellefson) on September 3, 1920 in Garretson, South Dakota, where she was raised. Her other past residences included, Washington D.C., Maryland and the Northern Virginia area. Olena graduated from Iowa State Teacher's College where she found her love for teaching. She also loved cooking, cards, traveling and entertaining friends and family.

Olena was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 68 years, John George Glynn in 2015 and her daughter Sharon, who passed away in 2011.

Olena is survived by her loving daughter, Kathleen Armiger (Roy), of Severna Park Maryland, along with four grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.

A graveside service and burial will be held on Thursday, December 28th, 2017 at 11:30 am at Maryland Veterans Cemetery, 1122 Sunrise Beach Road, Crownsville, MD 21032.
