Norman Eldridge Wright, Sr., 94, a resident of Seaford, DE, formerly of Arnold, MD, passed away on March 19, 2017 at Lofland Park Center in Seaford, Delaware.

He was born on October 6, 1922 in Baltimore, MD. Norman was a WWII Veteran and landed at Omaha Beach on D-Day. He was a Member at Large and former Sergeant at Arms at American Legion Post 175 in Severna Park. He was also a member of the VFW and NRA.

Norman worked for the Department of Army for 37 years and then worked for the State of Maryland for 5 years.

He enjoyed birdwatching, gardening, and coin collecting.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Gladys Wright (nee Hall); one grandson; three brothers; one sister; and one great grand daughter.

He is survived by his daughters, Diana (Ron) Blevens of Seaford, DE, Mary Anne Carr of Arnold, and one son, Norman (Barbara) Wright, Jr. of Riverview, FL; five grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and four great- great grandchildren.

Family and friends may visit on Sunday, March 26, 2017 from 2-4 pm and 6-8 pm at Barranco & Sons, P.A. Severna Park Funeral Home, 495 Ritchie Hwy. A Funeral Service will be held on Monday, March 27, 2017 at 12:00 pm, at the funeral home. Interment will follow in Maryland Veterans Cemetery in Crownsville, MD.
