Norman Dickerson
Norman Clifford Dickerson, Jr., 74, of Towson, and a Severna Park resident for 25 years, died of supranuclear palsy Sept. 6 at Eden Wald Nursing after a two-year illness.
Born Feb. 17, 1931, in McKinney, Texas, Mr. Dickerson was reared in the Dallas area. He attended Southern Methodist University and graduated from the University of Texas in 1958 with a degree in engineering.
Mr. Dickerson served in the Air Force during the Korean War and later retired from Litton Industry, where he worked as a electrical engineer for 26 years.
He was a member of Woods Memorial Presbyterian Church, where he had served as an Elder and on the property management ministry. He participated in Kerygma, a church fellowship and study group, and was involved with the Rehabbers, Hilltoppers and Woods Wids.
A gifted artist, his interests included carpentry, sailing and travel.
In 1950 he married Norine Faye Chaney Dickerson. She died Oct. 24, 1997, after 47 years of marriage. He was the brother of the late Gerald Craft and Paul Dickerson.
Surviving are two sons, Eric C. Dickerson of Greenbelt, and Kirk P. Dickerson of Millersville; one daughter, Karen L. Dickerson of Lyons, Col.; two brothers, Harold and Jerry Craft, both of Texas; two sisters, Codine Craft and Louise Wellbourne, both of Texas; and three grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Woods Church, 611 Baltimore Annapolis Blvd. in Severna Park. Burial is private. Arrangements are by Barranco and Sons Severna Park Funeral Home.

From the North: Take Baltimore Beltway 695 East to 97 South. Take Exit for 100 towards Gibson Island. Follow 100 to Route 10 Severna Park. Make a left onto Ritchie Hwy (Route 2). Go approximately 4 miles and turn right at Cypress Creek Road. You will see Woods Church on the right-hand side. From the South: Take 50 East. Go across the Severn River Bridge and take the 1st exit toward Baltimore (Route 2). Go North on Ritchie Hwy (Route 2) for about 6 miles and turn left onto Cypress Creek Road. Woods will be on the right-hand side.
