Norman Wesley Boston Sr., 66, a resident of Severna Park since 1970 and formerly of Baltimore, died of kidney failure Jan. 28 at North Arundel Hospital after a lengthy illness.

Born and reared in Baltimore, Mr. Boston was owner and operator of Norman W. Boston Painting in Severna Park, where he worked as painting contractor for 45 years before retiring in 1999.

Mr. Boston formerly participated on a Bowl America bowling league in Glen Burnie.

He enjoyed shooting pool.

Surviving are his wife, Mildred J. Williams Boston, whom he married in 1957; two daughters, Donna L. Strine of Hummelstown, Pa. and Daphne Reeve of the United Kingdom; one son, Norman W. Boston Jr. of Severna Park; one brother, Richard Boston of Westminster; one sister, Margaret Wett of Florida; five grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. on Monday and 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Tuesday at Barranco and Sons Severna Park Funeral Home, 495 Ritchie Highway in Severna Park, where funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Interment will follow in Loudon Park Cemetery in Baltimore.
