Nell M. Ratliff went home to be with her Savior Jesus Christ on July 4, 2016. Nell was born on July 24, 1926 to James and Octavia Varney Harrison in Pikeville, KY, the youngest of their seven children. She was valedictorian in the graduating class of 1946 from Pikeville College and was awarded the W.C. Condit Prize. She married Thomas H. Ratliff in Pikeville on July 7, 1946, taught elementary school eventually retiring as a Technical Editor from Alliant Techsystems. Nell was an active member in the Severna Park United Methodist Church, loved art, travel and swimming and even learned how to fly. Above all she loved her family and was very devoted to caring for her children and grandchildren. Nell loved people and longed to help them.

Nell is preceded in death by her former husband, Thomas H. Ratliff, Jr. and her beloved son, Thomas H. Ratliff, III. She is survived by her daughter, Kim Rawley Mahon and husband Charlie and Kim's children, Brandon Case, Christina Carlson and her two children, and by Joshua Rawley. She is survived by Tom's children, Thomas H. Ratliff, IV and wife Brandi and their four children, Michael J. Ratliff and wife Aga and one daughter and Matthew J. Ratliff and wife Marisa and one son.

A Celebration of Her Life will be held on Saturday, July 9, 2016 at 2:00 PM at Severna Park United Methodist Church. In lieu of flowers, please send contributions to Walk the Walk Foundation PO Box 342, MiIlersville, MD, 21108 to help local children with school supplies and other needs.
