Neil J. Werthmann passed away peacefully on September 9, 2019 at his home in Severna Park, at the age of 88.  He was born on October 12, 1930 in Irvington, New Jersey, the son of the late Jacob Werthmann and Alice Larney. Married for 49 years to the late Monie Roat, he is survived by his three children:  Patty, Betsy and Neil, Jr.(Marietta), and three grandchildren (Neil Jacob, III, Vince and Catherine).

He graduated from Seton Hall University, then proudly served three years in the United States Marine Corps from 1952-1955.  Neil was a manufacturer's agent for companies that dealt with paper and plastic packaging before starting his own company. His faith and his family meant the most to him.  He and Monie loved to travel and listen to Dixieland jazz music. Those who knew Neil appreciated his outgoing nature and amazing memory for fun facts about many different topics. He had a great sense of style and enjoyed wearing colorful slacks with martini glasses or santas on them.  Even into his eighties, Neil had friends young and old.

A Memorial Mass will be Celebrated on Tuesday September 17, 2019 at 2:30pm at Our Lady of the Fields Roman Catholic Church 1070 Cecil Ave Millersville, MD 21108.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Hospice of the Chesapeake, Semper Fi Fund, or a charity of your choice.
