Nathaniel Henry McDavitt (Nathan) of Glen Burnie, passed away on April 15, 2016, following an accident incurred while defending freedom. Nathan enlisted in the United States Air Force in 2014 and was stationed at Spangdahlem Air Base, Germany. He recently deployed to Jordan as part of Operation Inherent Resolve. Nathan served his country as an F16 Crew Chief assigned to the 52nd Equipment Maintenance Squadron, the 407th Air Expeditionary Group. Prior to his deployment, the squadron recognized Nathan as "Outstanding Airman of the Quarter".

Nathan, 22 years old, born in Towson and raised in Glen Burnie and Severna Park to devoted parents Philip Mark McDavitt and Jeanette Marie Middleton-Sudano, lived life to the fullest. He was a member of St. John the Evangelist Church, Severna Park, a 2011 graduate of Severna Park High School where he played football and basketball, and a member of Boy Scout Troop 855, St. Martin's in-the-Field, Severna Park. Nathan participated twice in 100+ mile hikes, with Boy Scout Troop & Venture Crew 855, at the Philmont Scout Ranch in Cimarron, New Mexico, plus numerous other adventure activities. Nathan assisted many scouts with their Eagle Scout projects and mentored younger scouts. He achieved the highest rank of Eagle Scout in 2011. Nathan was honored with the Buzz Purdy "Essence of Character" achievement award from the Severna Park Falcons in 2010. Nathan enthusiastically assisted his mother with gathering and distributing food and clothing for the homeless, also helping with Hurricane Sandy relief in New Jersey, supplying clothing and assisting in the cleanup. Nathan's passions included hunting, fishing, golfing, basketball, snowboarding, camping, swimming, and watching football, especially Penn State games. Prior to enlisting, Nathan attended Anne Arundel Community College and worked at Middleton and Meads Company, Baltimore. Nathan married Alexis Jaden Miller of Coeur d'Alene, Idaho on December 30, 2015. Alexis, enlisted in the United States Air Force, is stationed at MacDill Air Force Base, with the 6th Aircraft Maintenance Group in Tampa, Florida.

Nathan is survived by and will be remembered with love by his wife Alexis, parents Philip and Jeanette, stepfather Samuel Sudano, in-laws, Bruce & Kimberly Miller, siblings Harrison, Olivia, Bruce III, Tatum and Danielle, grandparents Ronald and Barbara Middleton of Hedgesville, West Virginia, and Steven & Sally Fuhr of Coeur d'Alene, Idaho, great grandmother Elsie Mae McDonagh Harrison, numerous aunts, uncles, cousins in Maryland, Iowa, Idaho and his Airman family serving at home and abroad.

Family and friends may visit on Saturday and Sunday, April 23rd and 24th, 2016 from 2-4 pm and 6-8 pm at Barranco & Sons, P.A. Severna Park Funeral Home, 495 Ritchie Hwy, in Severna Park. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Monday, April 25, 2016 at 10:00 am at St. John the Evangelist Roman Catholic Church, 689 Ritchie Hwy, Severna Park, MD 21146. Interment will follow in MD Veterans Cemetery in Crownsville.
