Naomi Edna Serwatka, 84, a resident of Pasadena, MD died at home on September 21, 2009, due to complications from Alzheimer's Disease, after a lengthy illness.

She was born Naomi Edna Douglas on March 8, 1925 in Baltimore, MD, where she was raised. She lived at various military duty stations as the wife of a Senior Master Sergeant. Mrs. Serwatka lived in Pasadena for 28 years, with the last 3 ½ years under the full time care of her daughter.

In addition to being a homemaker, Mrs. Serwatka was a member of Woman's Club of Pasadena and the Garden Club of Pasadena. She enjoyed playing piano, gardening, sewing, painting, and loved her animals and grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her late son, Stanley J. Serwatka, II, who died in 2008.

Survivors include her husband Ferdynand Serwatka of Pasadena, MD; a son, Charles W. Lloyd of MD; two daughters, Diana Dychkowski of Murphysboro, IL and Julie Ann Wade of Pasadena, MD; one sister, Mary Lou Babbington of Baltimore, MD; five grandchildren and two great grandchildren.

Family and friends may visit on Thursday, September 24, 2009 from 1:00 PM– 3:00 PM and from 5:00 PM- 7:00 PM at Barranco & Sons, P.A. Severna Park Funeral Home, 495 Gov. Ritchie Hwy in Severna Park. A funeral service will be held on Friday, September 25, 2009 at 11:00 AM at the funeral home. Interment will follow in Western Cemetery in Baltimore, MD.
