Nancy Irene Caraker (nee Zimmerman), 76, a resident of Glen Burnie, died on March 20, 2014 at Baltimore Washington Medical Center in Glen Burnie.

She was born on September 18, 1937 in Donaldson, PA and graduated from Oley High School in Fleetwood, PA.

Nancy was employed with an insurance company and Bell Telephone Company in Wayne, PA. She married her husband, and then worked for A & P as a cashier and bookkeeper for 36 years. She was a member of Pasadena United Methodist Church.

Nancy enjoyed crocheting and doing crossword puzzles.

She is survived by her husband of 56 years, Thomas Herty Caraker III of Glen Burnie; one son, Thomas Herty Caraker IV of Preston; three daughters, Denise I. Bower of Glen Burnie, Deborah Ann Caraker of Glen Burnie, and Cynthia L. Byrd of Allentown, PA; six grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; and four brothers, Donald Zimmerman of Burnsville, PA, Ira Zimmerman of Fleetwood, PA, Warren Zimmerman of Sinking Springs, PA and Leroy Zimmerman of Topton, PA.

Family and friends may visit on Tuesday, March 25, 2014 from 2-4 pm and 6-8 pm at Barranco & Sons, P.A. Severna Park Funeral Home, 495 Ritchie Hwy, in Severna Park. A Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, March 26, 2014 at 11:30 am at Pasadena United Methodist Church, 61 Ritchie Hwy, Pasadena, MD 21122. Interment will follow in MD Veterans Cemetery in Crownsville.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Pasadena UMC, 61 Ritchie Hwy, Pasadena, MD 21122.
