Myrtle Smith
Myrtle Dewire Smith, 95, of Glen Burnie, died of heart failure June 10 at the Severna Park Center, Genesis Eldercare Network, after a six month illness.
Mrs. Smith was born May 31, 1909, and raised in Lewisburg, Pa., and lived in Washington Mills, N.Y., for 34 years. She then lived in Glen Burnie for 31 years. A homemaker, she enjoyed tatting, crocheting, sewing and gardening.
Surviving are her husband, Edwin W. Smith, whom she married in April 1, 1939; two daughters, JoAnn Read of Gambrills and Isobel Seubert of Hanover, Pa.; one son, E. Richard Covert of New York, N.Y.; three grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Memorial visitation will be held from 7 to 9 p.m. tomorrow at Barranco and Sons Severna Park Funeral Home, 495 Ritchie Highway. Services and burial will be private.
