Myra Zipora Turner, 39, departed life at home on Tuesday, June 8, 2010.

She was born on August 11, 1970 to the late Joseph Levell Turner "Buddy" and Janice Harris Turner in Anne Arundel County. She received her Christian foundation from Hope St. Mark UMC and Ebenezer AME Church.

Myra received her early education at Anne Arundel County Public Schools. She received her BS degree in Accounting from the University of Maryland Eastern Shore and her MS degree in Taxation from Southeastern University. She also received a certificate in Criminal Justice from the Community College of Baltimore County.

Myra was a woman of strength and perseverance. At the time of her departure, Myra was employed with the United States Probation Office as a Probation Officer. Though her life on earth was brief, her experience was vast. She was formally employed as a Prince Georges County Police Officer, an MTA Police Officer, a Tax Accountant, a Correctional Officer, and as a Home Improvement Consultant.

Myra's interests included reading African American Novels, shopping, sports, and theatre. She was a member of the Annapolitan Corvette Club. She enjoyed spending time with her family. Her pride and joys were her nieces, Mariah and Ja'Nai Turner and her nephew, Marcus Turner.

Upon her mother's death, she embraced and raised her younger brother, Darius L. Turner. In addition to Darius, Myra leaves to cherish her memory, brothers, Troy and Jerome Turner, Damon and Brad Neal; devoted guardians after her parent's death, Wayne and Rise Neal; her nieces, Ja'Nai & Mariah Turner, and Kamora & Brooklyn Brown; her nephew, Marcus Turner; sister in law Loren Turner and her special friend, Albert Young.

A visitation will be held at the Barranco & Sons, P.A. Severna Park Funeral Home on Monday, June 14 from 5-8 pm. The family will receive friends from 9:00 a.m. -10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, June 15, 2010 at First Christian Community Church Annapolis, 1800 Apostle Johnson Way, (formerly known as Hall-Brown Road) Annapolis, Maryland 21401. A Christian Wake will immediately follow the viewing. Funeral services will commence at 11:00 a.m. Internment will be in Ebenezer A M E Church Cemetery, Galesville Road, Galesville, MD.
