Muriel Lord Walton (Bessemer), 93, a resident of Severna Park, died on March 11, 2018, at Brightview Severna Park.
She was born on October 9, 1924 in Liverpool, England, where she was raised, and graduated from Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, OH. She previously lived in Naples, FL; Princeton, NJ; York, PA; Worcester, MA; and Pasadena, CA.
Muriel was employed with the National Kidney Foundation; United Nations (1946-50); and was Director of York, PA Anti-Poverty Agency.
She was the Founder of the Pelican Bay (FL) Women's League, where she was their first President. She was also a 20 plus year resident of Pelican Bay, Florida and was very active in the community.
Muriel enjoyed playing bridge and engaging in public service (volunteering).
She is survived by her sons, Conrad (Susan) Bessemer of Millersville and Robert (Marianne) Bessemer of Allison Park, PA; her daughter, Diane (James) Osborne of Seattle, WA; nine grandchildren; and eight great grandchildren. She was pre-deceased in death by her husbands Alan F. Bessemer, Frederic M. Lord, and Charles Walton.
