Muriel Lynn Walters, 16, of Severna Park, died Wednesday at home after a five year battle with cancer.
Muriel was born in Annapolis and raised in Severna Park where she attended Benfield Elementary School, Severna Park Middle School and she graduated from Severna Park High School on December 16, 2013.
She was a member of Severna Park United Methodist Church and the Refuge Youth Group at Trinity Bible Church. She was recognized as Severna Park Patch's Person of the Year.
Muriel loved drawing, singing, reading the Bible, telling jokes, and laughing.
She is survived by her parents, Ronald Howard Walters, Jr. and Lynette Renee Walters of Severna Park; sisters, Ariel Lynette Walters of Glen Burnie and Danielle Lynette Walters; twin sister, Gabrielle Lynn Walters of Severna Park; brother Nathaniel Wilton Howard Walters of Severna Park; grandmothers, Edith Lynette Geldmacher of Severna Park and Janet Lee Roelecke of Lincolnton, NC .
Family and friends may visit on Tuesday, February 18, 2014 from 2-4 and 6-8 pm at Barranco & Sons, P.A. Severna Park Funeral Home. Funeral Service will be held at 11 am on Wednesday, February 19, 2014 at Severna Park United Methodist Church 731 Benfield Rd. Severna Park, MD 21146. Interment will be in MD Veterans Cemetery in Crownsville, MD. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Hospice of the Chesapeake (for Children's Care) 90 Ritchie Highway, Pasadena, MD 21122.
