Miriam Killian peacefully passed away surrounded by her family on May 31, 2024 after a long battle with metastatic breast cancer.
She was born on September 30, 1949 to her parents Felix Figueroa Diaz and Ana Petra Morales in San Juan, Puerto Rico. She graduated from Aberdeen High school in 1968. On June 14, 1969, she married the love of her life, Dennis Killian who was serving in the Army at Fort Lee, VA. Shortly after they moved to Okinawa. After discharge they moved to Johnstown, PA and then settled in Annapolis, MD in 1989.
Miriam worked in customer service at Killian's Market in Johnstown and volunteered at Visitation BVM school in her spare time. She cherished her Catholic faith and attended various Catholic churches throughout her life.
After moving to Annapolis, she continued her customer service work at numerous retail stores. She enjoyed shopping, helping her friends and family, boating, camping, going to the beach, and most of all she loved running around after her six grandchildren.
She is survived by her husband Dennis J. Killian of Cape St Claire, MD; her brothers Orlando Figueroa and Nestor Figueroa both of Puerto Rico; her daughter Carrie Maurer (Tim) of Annapolis, MD; her sons Shawn Killian (Tiffani Mitchell) of Annapolis, MD and Michael Killian of Annapolis, MD; and her six grandchildren Ryan, Maci, Ella, Bryanna, Jessica, and Casey.
A Memorial Mass will be held on Saturday July 27, 2024 at 10:30am at St. Mary's Parish, 109 Duke of Gloucester Street Annapolis MD, 21401. In accordance with Miriam's wishes, please wear bright colors to her service. This choice reflects her lively personality and her love for life.
