Mildred Lusby

Mildred Mooney Lusby, 79, a resident of the Linstead Community of Severna Park for over 40 years, died of heart failure Jan. 25 at Anne Arundel Medical Center after a lengthy illness.

Mrs. Lusby was born Feb. 21, 1928, in Baltimore and was raised in University Park. She graduated from Hyattsville High School and the University of Maryland at College Park.

After raising her children, Mrs. Lusby worked as a case worker in constituent services for the U.S. House of Representatives in Glen Burnie.

She enjoyed playing bridge and other card games, doing crossword puzzles and reading.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, William Eldridge Lusby Jr.

Survivors include two sons, William C. Lusby of Lothian and Thomas R. Lusby of New Fairfield, Conn.; one sister, Jane McCary of Annapolis; three grandchildren: and three great grandchildren.

Family and friends may visit from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. tomorrow at Barranco and Sons Severna Park Funeral Home, 495 Ritchie Highway. A funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Fort Lincoln Cemetery in Brentwood.
