Mildred Virginia Hein (nee Braun), 93, a resident of Severna Park, Md., died on Sunday, January 3, 2010 after a brief illness.
She was born May 30, 1916, in Baltimore, to S. Milton Braun, Sr. and Bertha Mary (Karsten) Braun. Mildred was raised in Baltimore and was a graduate of Eastern High School.
She worked for many years for the Eastern Acceptance Corporation and the American Health and Life Insurance Co. After retirement, she served as a volunteer in the nursery at GBMC. Later she served on the Board of Directors of the Maryland Bible Society. She enjoyed singing, reading, quilting, and making candy.
Mildred was a member of Our Shepherd Lutheran Church in Severna Park, where she did volunteer work in the church office and enjoyed many friendships. She was preceded in death by her husband, Rev. Robert F. Hein, whom she married on June 3, 1942 and by her two brothers, S. Milton Braun, Jr. and Charles Kenneth Braun.
She is survived by one daughter, Helen M. Hartman of Annapolis, and one son, Kenneth D. Hein of Severna Park; one grandson, K. Lyle Hein of Ellicott City; one granddaughter, Laura G. Hein of Baltimore; and two great-grandchildren.

A visitation will be held on Friday 3-5pm and 7-9pm at BARRANCO & SONS, P.A. SEVERNA PARK FUNERAL HOME, 495 Gov. Ritchie Hwy, in Severna Park, MD. Services will be held Saturday 11:30am at Our Shepherd Lutheran Church, 400 Benfield Road, Severna Park, MD.
