Upon completion of high school, Millie went to work at St. Mary's Hospital, where she was trained as an Operating Room Technician. In 1955, she married Kingsley Gorman, Jr., by whom she is survived after 65 ½ years of marriage. She is also survived by a son, Nathan F. Gorman of Severn, MD; as well as 8 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren. Millie was preceded in death by daughters Valerie Littleton and Stephanie Gorman.
After returning to the United States upon her Air Force husband's completion of a 3 year tour of duty in the Republic of the Philippines, Millie worked at Price Georges (MD) General Hospital. She then embarked on a career with the District of Columbia government, from which she retired after 33 years of service. During her career with the D.C. government, she worked at Glendale Hospital until its closing.
